Abbey was there to represent Best Beginnings, which ensures that children get the best possible start in life. “I’m working with a charity Best Beginnings who have just launched a new campaign Our Chance to help young mums and women have the safest pregnancy possible,” she explained. “I’m a mum of two with a fantastic support system around me but it’s still hard so these girls, I don’t know how they do it.”
The charity is one of seven which is involved in the Heads Together campaign, a project launched by Prince William, Duchess Kate and Prince Harry in an attempt to end stigma surrounding mental health.
“Me and William had a chat about babies that don’t sleep,” she said
Abbey went on to reveal how her footballer partner Peter is adapting to living in a household full of girls, admitting that he enjoys watching her show, Britain’s Next Top Model. “Pete loves it,” the former Strictly Come Dancing star said. “I remember there was a Champions League final on and we were watching the BNTM final instead but he’s in a house full of girls, so he has no choice really!”
“I love working,” said the model – who has released her debut novel Remember My Name. “The life I’ve had for the past ten years I’ve loved it, I’m so grateful. I think it’s a good role model for the girls. You have to work hard, I come from a working class family.”
